About
Twesigye Jackson Kaguri is a distinguished global thought leader dedicated to human rights, education, youth, and holistic community development.
He established Nyaka Inc. in 2001 to address systemic inequalities, poverty, and hunger in Nyakagyezi, Uganda. Through Nyaka, he has empowered over 23,000 grandmothers who care for 120,000 orphaned and vulnerable children with micro-loans and entrepreneurial training.
Kaguri is a board member of Global Giving and has received numerous accolades, including CNN Hero of the Year, Heifer Hero, and recognition from Time Magazine as one of the Global Citizens and the Power of One.
He has authored seven influential books and holds degrees from Makerere University, Columbia University, Indiana University, Shanadoah University, Andrews University, and Cal Poly.
He recently completed the Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative in 2023.
