Accessibility Statement

UKETA Learning is built to help people unlock practical, job-ready skills, and that only means something if the Platform itself is usable by everyone, including learners with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities. Accessibility is an ongoing commitment for us, not a one-time fix, and this page explains what we do about it, what to expect, and how to reach us if something isn't working for you.

1. Our Standard

We aim to design and build UKETA Learning in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and to follow WAI-ARIA practices for interactive components such as menus, dropdowns, and dialogs. We haven't commissioned a formal third-party conformance audit, so we don't claim full certified compliance, we're describing a standard we design and review against, and a direction we keep working toward as the Platform grows.

2. What We've Built Toward This

• Semantic, structured HTML across the site, so headings, landmarks, forms, and buttons are exposed correctly to screen readers and other assistive technology, not just visually implied;
• Keyboard-operable navigation, menus, and forms, so the Platform doesn't require a mouse or touchscreen to use;
• Descriptive alt text on meaningful images, and decorative images marked so assistive technology can skip them;
• Sufficient color contrast in our core design, and a color palette that doesn't rely on color alone to convey status (enrollment status, quiz results, etc. are also labeled in text);
• Resizable text and layouts that adapt to browser zoom without breaking;
• An on-screen accessibility toolbar (the floating icon in the bottom corner of the site) that lets you increase text size, switch to high contrast, invert colors, or grayscale, enlarge the cursor, pause moving content, underline links, use a more readable font, follow a reading guide, and have text read aloud, adjustable on any page, without needing an account.

3. Course Content and Third-Party Material

Course videos, downloadable resources, and other learning material are created by our coaches and instructors. We encourage clear audio, legible on-screen text, and captions where practical, but because this content is produced by many different people, its accessibility can vary more than the surrounding Platform does. If a specific course or lesson is hard for you to use because of a disability, tell us (see below), we'll work with the instructor directly or offer an accommodation where we can.

Some pages also embed third-party services we don't control, such as payment processing, video hosting, or maps. We choose reputable providers, but we can't guarantee their accessibility ourselves.

4. Known Limitations

We're not aware of every gap, and we'd rather say that plainly than overclaim. Some older pages or less-used flows may not yet be fully keyboard-navigable or screen-reader-friendly, and not every video currently has captions or a transcript. If you hit one of these, please report it, specific reports are what let us actually fix the right things, in order of what affects real learners.

Please include the page or course you were on, what assistive technology or browser you were using if relevant, and what you expected to happen. We read every report and use it to prioritize fixes; we can't promise a fixed turnaround time for every issue, but we aim to respond to accessibility reports promptly and keep you updated.
